PLC Third-party integration

OPCUA is the industrial standard for communication between controllers and third-party software and hardware. It is a manufacturer-independent protocol that is being adapted by many PLC manufacturers.

Following the server-client approach, some PLCs are starting to integrate the OPCUA inside their CPUs, allowing seamless communication. Simumatik provides a OPCUA driver integrated in the Gateway, allowing to communicate with any device that has a server implemented.

Note

Right now, the only PLC software tested by Simumatik are Codesys and Siemenes TIA Portal.
