Installation in organization networks
This page will guide you through how to get Simumatik up and running locally on your organization's network. Two programs will be installed:
- Local server - This will perform all calculations related to the emulation on the local computer.
- Gateway - This enables communication with third-party software.

Linux and MacOS aren't supported yet, however our online servers can be used on any platform. See the Launch server guide to learn more about online servers
Installation in Windows
Step-by-step instructions for installation on windows networks, all neccessary links and instructions provided.
Local server
The Simumatik server will be downloaded as an exe file. Save it your PC, and execute it to install the server.

Warning
The Simumatik Server needs access to the following ports to work properly: 4842, 4880, 4848
Once you open the Server executable, a warning from Windows may appear, as seen in the picture below. To start the installation, click on 'More info' and a new screen with more information will be shown.
It is important to double-check that the publisher is 'Simumatik AB' before clicking on 'Run anyway'. Finally, just follow the installer instructions.
Once installed, you can start the server by searching for Simumatik.
When launching the server, a splash screen will be displayed.
If the server is successfully started, a Simumatik icon should be shown in your system-tray to indicate the user that the server is currently running.
At this point, you can go to the Simumatik APP, log-in, and refresh the servers list in the homescreen by clicking the reload button. The local server running will now be shown there.
Warning
In order to do the testing you must use your organization account. You can also contact support@simumatik.com to get a temporal one.
Gateway
The Simumatik gateway will be downloaded as an exe file. Save it your PC, and execute it to install it.

Warning
The Simumatik Gateway needs access to the following ports to work properly: 2323, 4844
Once you open the Gateway executable a warning from Windows may appear, as seen in the picture below.
In order to start the installation, please click on 'More info' and a new screen with more information will be shown.
Before continuing the installation, please double-check that the publisher is 'Simumatik AB'. Finally, click on 'Run anyway' and follow the installer instructions.
At this point, the Gateway is installed. Next, you can go to the Simumatik APP, to test it. Open the workspace by pressing the highlighted screen button.
Warning
The local server must be running in order to access the workspace.
Once in the workspace, click on the three-dots menu button (⋮) on the toolbar, and then select the 'Gateway' tab. Finally click on the connected switch. It should turn green if everything is correctly installed.
